Words can't express how excited we are to welcome "Fancy Dan". McCann-Farm Fancy has long been one of my favorite does; seeing her for the first time inspired me to strive for bigger and better dreams with our Alpine breeding program. We have been waiting for this boy for some time and found it only fitting to name him after his stellar dam.

Dan was chosen to bring his dam's overall excellence and especially her mammary longevity to our herd. Seeing Fancy on the move at 2026 Nationals with her sound and strong pasterns, I could only hope all of her upcoming descendants in our herd age half that well. And in fact her splendid mammary came in first place, which is no mean feat when you're an 11-year-old dairy goat and the eldest lady at the show!

Dan's paternal side also comes from lines we love as his sire's dam is another "KVZ" doe sired by Zydeco (2022 Nat'l 1st place Get of Sire). This will give us a nice level of consistency with our other Zydeco daughters and granddaughters, so he was a perfect addition for us. Dan the Man is excellent in himself with a very strong front, level top and the best personality in the herd. He takes the "No Jerks Policy" to heart by being the nicest goat of all time.
